Hi all,
I am looking for a camera for a safari holiday later this year.
I do like the "point and shoot" camera that does everything for me. I do want a decent zoom though to capture as much as possible.
Do you think a x14 zoom would be good enough? Anything beyond this seems to be the more complicated camera, which Im sure I would be totally lost with.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.
Thankyou.
Jan

Hi Jan, Panasonic and Fuji for example make great semi-compact superzooms which will take reasonable safari pictures in good light. Much safari stuff is shot early and late in the day and that's where only the DSLR will produce good results but there is a learning curve.

For most stuff a 10 to 12 times zoom (say 28 to 280 or 340mm equiv will suffice)

check out the reviews at dpreview.

Good luck, John
