Hi guys, I'm trying to make a compilation of wildlife videos, mainly consisting of birds and I have two video footage I would like some feedback on as to whether they are any good, exposed correctly and etc.

The idea is to have a video of the bird or animal and have the noise it makes as the sound track. Let me know if it works and I'll press ahead and make some more for you guys via youtube! (y)

In case the video doesn't work, heres the links:

I'm glad someone else tries to make wildlife video..That makes two of us :)
Its got to be about the hardest thing to film ie small birds. you need long lens or zoom and audio as you have discovered is a pig.. :(
I like the whitethroat... not sure about the sound though. Might be better with just ambient sound ?? Its a good image though.
I tried to film birds singing the dawn chorus and it was very tricky. works in places not in others, cos you're trying to pick up a sound so far away... You can see my effort here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=96DhqodLLu4 A guy who knows more than me said in places I should have run one sound (of clear ambient sounds or birdsong) over three or four clips..That might help you too.
You like like you've got the skill of getting up to the birds though :)

Fantastic!

I'm glad to finally know that I'm not the only one trying to video birds. I do agree with ambient sound being the best option, what I tend to do is slow down the video half. I'd be happy alter to the ambient sound, but I have a lot of bird videos, over 60 species to be precise!

I think I'll keep hold of them and use them as transitional shots with music, then have the main focus on a certain bird with ambient sound, and narration over the top to talk about that certain bird. I'll subscribe to your youtube and watch your videos and I'll start making little bird documentaries when I get the chance.

Cheers for that pal, I'm rather impressed with your video. :)
