No
Looking to buy a couple of lenses but wondered if anyone knew or had any insider info if Canon would be doing any cashback deals on their lenses anytime soon?

Thanks

It depends how much your chosen lenses might cost but financial markets are rife with rumours that the Yen might be devalued by a possible 10% in the near future. This could potentialy save you more than the cashback would.

if the yen goes down, means the parts and raw materials will be more expensive for Canon (not much actually mined/produced in japan)

- so they will need to increase their prices to maintain the margin.

So the devaluation of the yen, would likely offset price increases.

ugh thats not good :(

I doubt a cash back offer will offset the recent massive price hike.

I wish I'd have taken the plunge and bought the 85mm f/1.2 in January. It now costs lottery win money!

Conversely, if no-one buy any, they may be forced to reduce the prices. I can't believe it's down to manufacturing. There must be a very large portion of tooling/development costs that they would like to recoup.

They just ran (or are running) an anniversary promotion which didn't amount to much. That would have been a great opportunity to push sales.
