Yes
Bought another 7d comes with 3 lenses which I will probably be selling
PAY PAL PROTECTED this time
so I did learn something
lenses it is coming with are Canon EF 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6 USM
efs 55-250 is mkii
Tamron 11-18mm
we will see what happens next week when it lands
let the wee taking commence

Are you moving up from a rebel? I've got a 550D, thought the two were very similar. It is a very addictive and expensive hobby.

isn't it just
time for a lens and camera clear out me thinks
lets hope this 7d is as described the last one I bought was a dog and went back for a refund
keeping the 600d rebel so I don't have to change my user name lol

I keep looking at things and think I need them, when in reality I probably do not. My kit bag probably does contain everything I need, probably just missing that one last piece a 5D3 :)
(I live in hope)

Funny you should mention the 5d 3 I was looking at them too
fortunately I managed to control the urge to buy on line

I'm surprised you went via eBay again....

What sort of deal did you get?

28-200 isn't a great lens, lots of talk of colour fringing at the open end and soft at the top end, but a good reasonably cheap walkabout so should sell well at the right price.

55-250, cheap lens, slow to focus and the IS was noisy, plastic mount but good range and light. I've found the one I tried dull on the colours but using the lens profile in lightroom pulled it up a bit.
I think some sellers shipped this as part of a kit, not sure about the 7D but with the XXXD models?

Tamron 11-18 I think is rated quite well. I believe the canon and sigma are slightly better but as you have the canon 10-22 it'll be interesting for you to compare the two.

So - hopefuly you got a bargain, with a low shutter count and can sell on the lenses

thanks for the info Byker
reviewed the lenses on the net before setting a value on the kit on offer
I already have a 55-250 which I find is actually surprisingly good and doesn't seem to have the issues yours has
I am quite interested in comparing the tamron with the 10-22 canon I already have
I was surprised when I read the reviews on the 28-200 considering it's price and it's supplied as the kit lens on some 7d packages !
I'm looking for a bargain priced 135 f2 at the moment
at least I am pay pal protected this time lost the trust in people at the moment after the last escapade
lets hope this isn't the sequel

was looking to get one from Hdew

It's the only excitement I get in my life at my age roflol
I quite fancied the little tamron lens

But you didn't need it with the Canon 10-22?

nope I didn't but one could argue I didn't need a 7d either
buying the whole lot for a load of money seemed the only way to get a reasonably priced 7d when I sell off the lenses
well that's my story and I'm sticking to it
if it's not what it is supposed to be I'll just send it back and get a new 7

Seems a waste of a few hundred quid though? You can justify the 7d, or any upgrade, but you've bought another UWA, that doesn't make sense when you already own (arguably) the best UWA available for a cropped Canon body!

You could have saved that extra few hundred and bought a brand new 7d, lol!

But he's going to sell off the lenses?

I am indeed going to sell off the lenses
I should then end up hopefully with a cheap 7d

I appreciate that but why spend the money in the first place to have he hassle of them selling a lens?!

Oh well, I was just wondering what the rationale was thats all. I would have thought spending the money on a new 7d would make more sense than buying used and paying for a lens the op already has covered?

He never had any intention of keeping the lenses, plus it's easier to sell lenses that you don't need. Once they're sold he'll be left with what he considers a bargain 7D.

I did the same with a 40D a year ago. Cost me £230 after selling the lenses. Plus I got to play with a couple of lenses for a while. It's very satisfying.

exactly steve
have play sell them on have some fun
it's only money

Haha I like your thinking. The amount of gear I've got through it pretty comical. For every body I've had probably 3 lenses and in three years I've had... 1000D,1DII,350D,450D,10D,5D,40D,5DII and I'm sure I've forgotten some....

I hear this alot what is a rebel?

its the american name for the xxxD series , you also see them decribed as KISS which is the japan branding ( I may have those two the wrong way round, not 100% sure)

Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with having a lens collection, I've got loads now (so many I don't bother adding to my TP camera bag!).

the rebel logo on the 600d looks better that's why I bought the US version
My ebay purchase of the 7d kit may not turn up yet
no message from the seller despite me paying for the goods immediately via paypal

don't panic, I've bought quite a few items on ebay when the first thing I know is the postie knocking on the door. Not all sellers have realised most buyers appreciate a "thank you" email confirming the item is processed/posted.

Yeah this happens to me often too. Some people treat eBay like forum selling, others treat it like selling through Amazon or something.

it's common courtesy to send the buyer a message or two
and it's darn right ignorant to ignore the buyers messages IMO

Buy cheap buy twice as they say!!

In this case literally!

In all seriousness, I hope this one works out.

Ok, not cheap, maybe "cheaper".

I'm sure it'll be fine, it's likely customer service isn't his forte.

I reckon it is a her not a him judging by what she has bought on ebay
doesn't look like I am destined to own a 7d might give up on the idea and just buy a 5d mk3 from digital rev

I never send a buyer anything to say thanks unless they're contacting me asking a specific question that isn't covered on the listing. Even then it may not be straight away if I'm really busy, as long as it gets despatched within the stated time is all I'd worry about.
