will I never learn another 7d on it's way

Is there a phone number in their contact details? For the kind of money you have spent perhaps a phone call to confirm its on it's way is an idea?

no contact number
seller has just phoned me
old guy, son in law advertised it for him
on it's way today via RMSD has supplied me a tracking number

Pleased to hear it's on it's way, but this thread is exactly why I prefer too pay a little extra and buy from a bricks and mortar shop our from a highly regarded shop that does mail order.

the only thing that seems to be hard is buying a 7d everything else I have purchased has been fine easy and trouble free

That was lucky, you can stop worrying then ;)

He can maybe stop worrying after he unwraps it, one wonders why a lesson was not learnt after the last fiasco!

That would mean never buy used and never trust anyone
I learnt to pay via paypal and purchase directly through ebay which gives me ebay and paypal protection this time

RMSD latest tracking info

We can confirm that your item left the delivery office this morning and should arrive shortly if it hasn’t been delivered already.

I could have had a body from panamoz brand new for 789 delivered

so you've got to sell the lenses for at least £322 to come out even - and even then you'll have a second hand camera rather than a new one with warranty

I hope it all works out for you but I really don't think i'd have done it that way

perhaps not such a good idea but spur of the moment
I have no issue selling the lenses, I find it quite interesting
been selling goods for over 30 years nothing camera related
lenses seem to be 400- 500 ponds worth
Or 1k if I sell them separately on ebay auction :lol::lol
Last week I was selling Jack russel puppies that arrived for free unexpectedly so that's the 7d and lenses paid for with change

Why would what I said mean that? look at the thousands of successful sales of kit on this forum as a result of trust!

you say so blue - I don't want to look like i'm having a go but i'll be suprised if you get more than a ton for the 28-200 , and the 55-250 is changing hands at about 75 (you can get them new from kerso etc for about 120) so imo its only the 11-18 which is going to be worth serious cash.

that aside i can see your point - I once bought a whole workshops contents for 500 notes, kept the kity 613 bandsaw and sold the rest individually for £450 meaning i'd got a damn good saw for 50 quid , so i can see how these things can work out, I just hope it does for you on the lenses

many a member also sells them on ebay
last deal was unlucky imo
well the camera was a stitch up
people seem to be implying that my purchases and ebay were unwise and risky
when in fact they are probably better protected buying on ebay than elsewhere imo
tried to purchase items on here but the price starts high normally and then ends in an auction type sale lol
or it's withdrawn

I am indeed going to sell off the lenses
I should then end up hopefully with a cheap 7d

In your grand plan to end up with a cheap 7D were you thinking of selling those lenses on this forum?

Not given any thought to the selling of the lenses
just tried to get a realistic value of them from panamoz hdew and mbp etc in order to work out my max bid on the 7d package
I did post in the what's it worth room for the lenses but no one replied

If you read the classifieds rules you will see the point I am making.

just post the points
I assume you mean by selling the lenses on this forum I may be in breach of the rules
If that is the case then no I won't attempt to sell them on here
shame if that is the case as some members could get some cracking lenses cheap
I'll check with a moderator before I make any decisions
infact I'll just wait till the goods turn up they may be going back yet lol

I assume you are referring to this one:-" No profiteering* : Selling or dealing in items that the staff believe have been purchased for profit is not permitted.
......It is perfectly fine for the asking price to reflect an increase in market value. It is the intent of buying and selling for profit that creates this rule."
not sure a profit is what I'd make more a case of minimising my loses

Not sure if it would be classified as profiteering or not, as the lens were not bought for a specific price, they were part of a bundle.

It's the same if someone sells a lens they get as part of a kit with a body. In theory they are then getting a cheaper body if they sell the lens.

I forgot to say - for example, there are some instances of this in the other brands classifieds forum due to cheap prices and cashback on Panasonic lumix compact system cameras. People have used the offers to upgrade bodies and sell on kit lenses.

This kind of things is probably too hard to police so isn't really seen as profiteering

the 18-200 is the kit lens this 7d came with new
the other two lenses are items the previous owner bought new
I already have the 55-250 and the tamron I have covered with a canon 10-22
If i decide to sell I will bounce it off the mod team first
lets see what I have purchased first should be here shortly
sounded a mint low mileage camera
reason for sale was he has arthritis and can't hold the camera
If all is well and the mods deem it as rule breaking I may just stick them on ebay
2 of the lenses are only a few months old apparently
the 55-250 will have to go as I don't need 2 and it in effect came free with the camera package lol

By openly admitting you are buying the package to sell on the lens in order to end up with a cheap 7D could be deemed as profiteering as your intention was to "profit" by ending up with a cheap 7D.

I will report this very post so a mod or preferably the opinion of more than one mod can decide if what you are doing infringes the rules or is not within the spirit of this forum.

I stand to be corrected if I am wrong here.

there's always one lol
i have stated clearly that I will bounce it off the mod team first so you reporting this gains you what
are you a bit miffed I bought this lot and not your 7d

cheap compared with what
personally I value a used 7d at 600-750 dependant on age condition ,shutter count and origin of purchase
I paid 1135 inc post for this 7d and lenses
The lenses are worth between 350 and 500 less any fees payable upon any possible future sale so I can't see this being a good business profit Sir Alan sugar would say your fired lol
if I'm lucky I will end up with a fair priced mint 7d and a load of unpaid hassel
My current time where I work is charged out at £75 per hour factor in this and this has to be the dearest 7d in existence lol

Must admit it's starting to look a bit like sour grapes to me.

Not at all , I decided to keep mine so was really pleased I did not sell it

If you read the other thread I was actually sympathetic to his plight.

Whether or not that sympathy was appreciated is not clear in Tony's replies.

I wasn't after sympathy my plight was just to let others see how purchases can go wrong and the item pictured may not be the item you receive
Surely advertising a camera for sale and then decided to keep it is is a waste of peoples time.
In effect putting an item up for possible sale if I can get what I want for it
all i wanted was a mint 7d low mileage at market price
I have ended up with what should be a mint 7d a load of hassle and some lenses I don't need or want all at market value imo
If it's going to upset some members I will either keep them sell them on ebay or advertise them ridiculously cheap on here.(mods agreeing of course)
So what we are saying is as long as I don't recoup too much from the sale of these unwanted items that would be agreeable to you mal .Say 350-400 + delivery costs

I am not having a go at you personally Tony, I hope when this is all done you end up with a decent 7D and post good results from it.

Even if you were not asking for sympathy it was given by a few on here but your posts re the relationship we have had in your thread have been a bit contradictory which is why I said it was not clear if it was appreciated.

Here's a smiley for you :)

I think the profiteering rule is more for people buying from the forum purely to then sell back on the forum at a profit is it not?

If a mod says you can't sell off excess gear from a bundle then there's something wrong with this forum (which there isn't which is why they won't).

Mal, I think reporting would be a little OTT, that CERTAINLY isn't within the spirit of the forum is it?

I was hoping to get my ebay purchase at a bargain price wouldn't we all
I set my snipe at what I had worked out the kit to be worth 1111 and that is exactly what I won it for in the end
IMO none of it was cheap however that wasn't the sellers opinion lol
mbp valuation was a lot less than I paid which is what you valued your kit on mal so why they valued yours more than my potential ebay purchase is a mystery and this one is uk and yours was grey
anyway my panamoz galaxy note arrived all I can say is that it is foopin huge compared to my galaxy s2 I sold on the bay

reminds me of this http://www.noob.us/humor/trigger-happy-tv-giant-cell-phone-prank/

:lol::lol::lol:
racism is an instant ban I believe
I don't value a grey import used at the same value as a uk one
the grey was alot cheaper new 790, uk 1050
what i do find a problem is paying someone 800 + for a used grey for obvious reasons
I don't have a problem with owning a grey I just wouldn't try and pass it on at uk used prices and only state grey if asked
maybe I am just a mr meldrew lol
anyway where's the postie with my RMSD he should be here by now
knowing my luck it has got lost or stolen in the delivery system lol

I lost a 5D to Royal Mail once. It was stolen never to turn up despite the seller using RMSD.

There is no difference between used grey and used UK if they are both out of warranty. Physically they are identical and so I would personally value them at exactly the same (since I'm not racist ). But suit yourself, but I.... don't.... believe... it!

Steve, the mods would like more to report what they may think is or "could" be an infringement of the rules that is what keeps the forum safe.

I'm sure lots of members disagree with me, like I said I stand to be corrected on this one.

On the report, Tony has done nothing wrong, the report of my post would be intended to clarify if I am right or wrong not Tony.

You'll probably get a chance in a couple of hours when this one in the post turns up with 200,000 clicks

Apologies, I misunderstood. To clarify, I wouldn't consider this "profiteering" but I could see why someone might.
