Will Sony 20mm f2.8 pancake rekindle NEX fire?

I am looking for a small portable camera with good IQ at the moment, and the only thing that stops me from springing for some reasonably priced m43 camera is the news that Sony are about to release their second (?) pancake lens for the NEX system.

On paper its not THAT impressive (f2.8 and all), but Pentax has a pancake 40mm that is also 2.8 and its really good. Sony could do with an affordable sharp pocketable lens (I honestly have no idea how they came up with the strategy plan for NEX that was in effect so far: small camera bodies with big lenses? Really, Sony? Only one pancake prime so far- the mediocre 16mm!)

But will this new 20mm f2.8 be game changer?
Are there any reviews (in any language)? Its supposed to be released this month...

It's going to have to be very good to beat the Sigma 19mm which is available in Sony E-mount, although it is smaller and looks better built.

Thanks for that! (it's a user review in kind of Japanese that googletranslate does not comprehend :) )

Sigma is barely ok-ish (2 out of 5 here http://www.photozone.de/sony_nex/786-sigma19f28nex?start=2), but it's AF hunts all over the place in video, and it's not a pancake.

That's the most negative review I've seen of the Sigma lens -mostly it seems to fare better than that and for the money is great value. I agree not a pancake though. I'm sure there will be more reviews of the new Sony very soon, now that it's available.

I don't know, I'm not a big fan of ephotozine's reviews.
On the DPR forum people that have got it seem to be preferring it over the Sigma (which is only cheap atm to shift stocks of the "old" versions) & of course the Sigma is bulkier.
 
Subjective opinions are hard to compare. Ephotozine's review is all about Imatest results that should be a more objective yardstick... Not that I know much about imatest, but it LOOKS more objective lol :)
