will this flash work on my Sony A230?

I have been offferd this for not a lot of money but want to know if it will work, I have some adaptors for the hot shoe,

If it works it will fire at full power. You'd have to use the manual settings on the flash to adjust the power.

Unless you are willing to learn manual flash settings I wouldn't bother. Instead look for a second-hand dedicated flash like the Jessops 360AFD.

Plus the fact,that if it is the wrong voltage you could fry the camera.

Indeed.

I'd checked it and that one was 6v I think, however the older models are 300V
