Hi Mick and welcome, just wondering what lens you caught this with :shrug: as there is no exif. The bottom line really is that the subject and the surrounding area does look quite soft, usually a case of camera shake and perhaps a faster shutter speed needed. Like I say if you can provide some exif details this will help viewers point you in the right direction ;)
 
hi tina , was in the hide would say about 6-7 ft awayin fact had a wren nearly land on my lens this afternoon , was using canon 7d with 100-400 lens we get nuthatches about 6ft away

Thanks Mick, now that you mentioned to Tina you were about 6-7ft away, I wonder if you had your lens set on minimum focus distance which if I am right for that lens is 1.8 mtrs aprox 5`-10". If your estimate of distance was out then this could have been part of the cause as well, only guestimating though :LOL:. Thanks again, and keep sending them in (y)
