From time to time we get customers asking about gimbal-type heads for long lenses. We stock the Manfrotto 393, which is a budget alternative, but I'm thinking of buying one of the 'proper' gimbal heads.
So which one? Cost isn't particularly an issue, but I am think I concerned about:
(a) how easy it is for customers (who won't have used it before) to attach to their lens;
(b) how easy it is for customers to use on the tripod;
(c) how secure it feels in use;
(d) general robustness;
(e) whether there are any fiddly little parts which customers can lose.
I'd be grateful for your views.
