Wind noise on video

I'm putting together some images and video I took in Antarctica on my 600D and am finding that wind noise on the video is masking background sounds.

I'm going to be going again, this time with my 60D, and want to avoid the problem. Can anyone recommend a suitable external microphone that will give me good sound without (or drastically reducing) the wind noise? I'm assuming there's nothing I can do on the camera to fix the problem...

pmsl...Growler...

I was gonna suggest a furry mic attacment, my other halfs dad used the furrist sock he could find and did a more DIY furry mic attachment than above...works though

Rode Videomic Pro seems to be the best value improvement - or at least it was when I was looking last year. About £135 (not sure if that includes the deadcat wind noise reduction attachment).

Thanks.

I've seen that name crop up in a few places but, having pushed my luck somewhat with recent purchases, I think I'll give the Micromuff, at 10% of the price, a go first.

Unless there are any other ideas?
