Windows 7 upgrade lost my wireless

I recently bought a new laptop (Samsung R530) with Windows 7 Premium pre-loaded. I bought an upgrade DVD to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit. Finally got round to installing it this evening but i've encountered a problem. The laptop last week connected to the internet wirelessly straight away and with no problems. Now i've upgraded, the laptop has no wireless connection. It seems it cant even search for a wireless connection. Its as if it has lost the wireless ability! Now im completely stumped! i've searched online (on my old dell laptop) and it seems lots of other people have had this problem, but none of the fixes i've found online have had any effect.
If anyone has any idea to help I would be very gratefull for your suggestions!!

most likely a driver issue ( and due to 64 bit ) , was the original version of windows 7 '32 bit' ?

It sounds like you do not have the driver installed, try going to windows update and see if that fixes th issue.

no as far as im aware it was 64bit aswell, thats why i chose the 64bit upgrade

on the laptop in question if i go to windows update it tells me i have no internet connection :bang:

I can access it from my working laptop, but i dont know how I would go about getting the right drivers etc?

sounds silly, but have you rebooted? Do that, then go control manager/devices to see if you have it in there

Hopefully this should help solve your problem. If not what we normally do in the shop is connect the laptop to the router direct using a network cable then search Windows Update and that will normally get you the missing driver.

yup youll need to get the 64bit driver, vista 64bit will do if no windows 7

Have a wee search around the Samsung site for a software download.

I sorted another laptop recently and was amazed to find the wireless switch/button was software driven!
