Hi there, both my brother and my dad have windows 7 premium on there laptops, and I have having a major headache caused by my dads advent verona, after doing all sorts like disabling norton and firewalls, and god knows what else, I appear to have run into the main problem, when on battery power only, the wireless shows as on via the laptops light, but it has a red x down on the task bar, but when the machine is plugged in, wireless wakes up and switches on. I have looked in the battery power management profile and changed the options (can't remember which I changed it to now though) and that worked, until the laptop was switched off and on it's next boot up the problem would start all over again and couldn't be fixed by doing the same thing!

Has anyone had the same issue, or know whats causing it? I help would be greatly appreciated.

Its an Advent verona. Its a 13" one with long battery life. I couldnt find any extra software on it. I did notice that in network connections that there were 2 different wireless devices coming up. One of which said mini port if i remember correctly. I tried updating the drivers for both and 1 of which did updatr but made know difference
