Maybe somebody might know the answer to this.
When i listen to my music files,i have quite a lot of elvis albums on there,but for some reason there are some of the mp3,s in there with 4 songs in a row of the same title.
Even after i delete the extra ones today the next time i play them they are back again,hope i explained that ok.:shrug:
 
Normally stuff like this is a tagging issue.
 
Thanks for your replies,i really don,t know a lot about it,i think wmp scanned for music on my pc origianally if i remember right,but it has been on there such a long time i am not too sure.But when i get rid of duplicates in wmp which there are usually about 4 of them for certain music files,it seems to re-populate them next time.:bang:
As far as i can see all my music mp3,s are named with the artist,not sure about tagging,i take it that just means the name of the file.:shrug::)

No. The file has metadata inside it which is read by the library software to see what it actually contains. Much like exif data on photos.
 
Well i have had a go at deleting playlists & generally tidying up,so will see how that goes.:):thumbs:

I use mp3tag as well.

Great for sorting out errors with names. for example if WMP lists some albums for Elvis and Others under E Presley you can change all of the artist names to Elvis Presley in just a few clicks and from then on WMP will have them under just one artist (once it gets round to updating its database)

It takes a while to learn but worth the effort :)

Least obvious things about the program is that you have to select (highlight) all the tracks before you search tag sources or manually type things in on the left and that you need to 'save' afterwards.
