hi all,

Buying a couple of small keyring cams for the car to record footage as you drive about however, I was wondering if fitting a polariser in front of them will help them see through windscreens better and reduce the glare.

Odd request I know, but had some spanner reverse in to my car, then blame me for it, insurance is 50/50 now :( for the sake of £20 I am going to get these cameras and try them out :)

When I was an ADI I had small video camera fitted inside the windscreen to record my students' efforts. Even in bright sunshine there was no need to have a filter but you do need to keep the screen clean.

HTH :)

Did this happen today? about 8:30 this morning in Tamworth?

Lol I know it's an odd question but I witnessed an incident while waiting for the bus and just thought that it may have been you lol, but probably not lol :D

Thanks,

I was thinking more of glare from other peoples windscreens hiding their faces :)

A polariser is perfect for that, the angles are usually just about right. Rotate the filter for maximum effect. That's what pros use for saloon car racing, so you can see the driver. And you'll get nice pretty blue skies.

Might be easier to drive more carefully and stay out of trouble ;)

LOL, It's not me, I was stationary with the handbrake on when he hit me! :(

Be aware that some older (?tougened) windscreens give odd effects through polarisers and may not give a good view of a driver.

Toughend glass has not been used for windscreens for decades, they're now laminated, but it still is for some side windows. They can show a mottled pattern with a polariser.
