Wired or wireless trigger activation help please

I have a night photography course to go on shortly and I don't currently have a way of taking the shots other than pressing the button. I'm looking for a wired or wireless solution and they seem to vary pretty wildly in cost. The likelyhood is that I will use it this once and maybe the odd occasion after, but it's very unlikely that it will be something I use much in the future.

So for cheap money what should I be looking at?


Oh and in case it matter it needs to work before a 5d mkII and a 1d mkIII

There are 3 basic types.
1 normal wired remote. Cheap but you can buy versions with timers for Blum mode if you are going to be using exposures longer than about 30 seconds.
2 ir remote (if your camera supports it). Handy for group shops so you don't have to use the 10 second delay and run round.
3 wireless like you found. Very long range so probably nice for some wildlife shooting where you can leave the camera setup on a target and trigger it remotely from a good distance.

Bought myself one, so I will see soon enough if it works ok or not. Throw away money, so worse case scenario I have to start again in a couple of weeks.
