Wireless flash connectivity

Basically, I want to connect a flashgun wirelessly to my camera.

And want to know the best way...

I own a Nikon D300s, and recently bought a Jessops SB60 (i think)

I have a wire to connect them and obviously extend, but wanted to go wireless.

put the D300 in commander mode, set the flash to slave and press the trigger. done. ) I think the commander mode works like that)? not sure about your flash.....

yeh it does...

I was buying a flash diffuser today from Jessops, and the guy there was saying that I shouldn't need anything just set the flash to slave. But that just confused me lol

And tbh, I've just tried it now, and both flashes fired simultaneously with no connections or changes of settings. And I'm still confused lol

Although I'm pleased it works, and with no expense, I don't understand how it's working, if you know what I mean...

When you set the D300 to commander what happens is it fires a small burst of light. That burst of light is picked up by the other flash (by a small optical trigger that picks up the change in light levels) and it all happens so quick it looks like they fire at exactly the same time.
