Hi,

I'm looking to pick up two Wireless Remotes one for my 400D and one for my brothers 550D

I was having a look at the Phottix remotes as they seem to have a wider range of options.

Will this remote do the job or is there an alternative wireless remote that can be picked up for around the same price as the Phottix?

Many thanks,

Mark.

There's also a good article in this months DLSR Photographer magazine that covers branded and generic remote devices :)

Warehouse Express are currently advertising a Hahnel wireless remote that looks excellent. Have a look here:

Little bit more than I was hoping to pay for, but thanks!

That looks a great bargain, but it doesn't seem to have the 400D or the 550D on its compatibility list :(

Just go to ebay and put in

Canon 550D wireless remote.

I did it for my 40D and fortunately it fits the 5d2 as well, cost me £12 from Etefore

I use Yongnuo RF-602. They are sold as remote flash tiggers but with an adapter cord they will also trigger a camera. I tried mine the other day for fun and it was firing a Canon 5D2 from over 100m up the road.

£28 a set from here http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=208644 Send Graham a PM, I think he also supplies the cords for free.

Yup it has done me for 3 years and is regularly used. I've just had to replaced the remote battery at a cost of £2.58 for a strip of 5 from China.

It has the focus and full shutter positions and is 16 channel. It's RF not infrared which are useless in bright sunlight and need you to be in front of the camera. What more do you need.

Bap, please review this if you do buy it.
I am interested in one for my 20D
