can anyone advise if you can buy wireless triggers that will fit on camera hot shoe and triggers off the flash by remote, best type and how they work thanks, as the ones i can see on ebay seem to have a cord to plug into the flash which isnt on my flash. cheers in advance

get the ones off fitp on here. you need a hotshoe adaptor for the cable to plug into, only bout £5!

Lost about the cord thing

I got some from FITP and they just work, one on cam one on flash, spot on.

hmmms, i just got mine today but dont have a pc sync lean to connect the trigger to my camera so havnt looked at them yet.

i thought you needed to connect the cable that comes with them to the pc sync connection on the flashgun? mines doesnt have one so hotshoe is on its way!

have no idea what you mean lol

the trigger just fits into the top of the camera, and the receiver on the flash.... Doesn't it?I never got a cable.

Yongnuo RF-602 does what you want. £28 from here post #2 http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=157807

That's actually a rather poor pic on the thread, showing the unit in remote camera trigger set-up, which is actually a secondary (bonus) function. There are no wires to plug in with remote flash - all hot-shoe connections.

gonna get them out and try then, eejit i am!

although in my defence the bloody instructions would have been better off staying chinese only for what good they do!

:plusone:

I use the RF-602(s) with my 430ex II (and other flashes)

In the photo that Hoppy linked to above the square part (on the far right) is the transmitter that sits on your cameras hotshoe. The rectangular shaped part (middle of the image) is the receiver that you slide your 430ex II onto. As Hoppy said, ignore the cable in the pic attached to the camera. It's not needed to trigger your flash.

Turn on the switch on your receiver & set your flash to Manual (No eTTL with the RF-602) and then when you click your shutter the flash will fire. Simple to setup and use.

thanks for all the info etc seems that rf-602 are the way forward, do people think that its the same or better than Canon ST-E2 Transmitter or do they not compare?

They don't compare.

ST-E2 is for remote E-TTL auto control, but uses an optical system that can be washed out by bright sun or distance (say over 10m).

RF-602 is radio and works anyhow anywhere, but is manual only and there's a slight delay which reduces x-sync speed very slightly.
