A composite of 2 images (my first so may not be perfect). Both shot on a Nikon Z6. Moon with FTZ + Nikon 200-500 and sky with Nikon Z 24-70 f4 S.
Would love to get in to Astro photography but don’t have the right kit - any suggestions for a beginner kit that doesn’t cost the earth?

It depends on what kind of astrophotography you want to do and also how much you want to spend.
If you want to do Milky Way and landscape photography you can do this with a camera, a wide fast lens and a decent tripod, no need for specialised astro gear although many people use equipment such as a star tracker as well to compensate for the rotation of the earth.
Imaging other sky objects such lunar/planetary or nebulae/galaxies will require more special equipment although the moon can be captured with a camera and longish lens or even a mobile phone!
