That's amazing! Very sharp on #3, enough to give arachnophobes a serious scare!

What lens are you using?
These were taken with the Canon 40d and the mp-e 65 and lighting was the mt-24ex macro twin lite, Thanks for looking ;)

Cheers Alby, you just made me run off screaming like a little girl.
Great shots mate, biteingly (dare i say that word...shivers) sharp.
Dean:)

Lovely set, particularly like 3

Amazing shots, sharp and powerful.
I didn't know spiders had such cute faces! :)

5mm.... Holy smoke Alby... Amazingly detailed and looks enormous....

very nice almost lovable till you imagine it making a run for you lol.

Thanks folks for looking, I got the name wrong as it is in fact a Nursery Web spider (Pisaura mirabilis) and not a wolfy, silly old me ;)

I was just about to say I thought it was a Nursery Web Spider. They're great, got some real attitude and will generally attack anything that gets too close. Of course they can't harm a human but they sure can make you jump ;)

That. Is. Horrible.

I think I'm just a glutton for punishment, it even says beware in the thread title, yet I just couldn't resist looking... Stunning shots, but I'm not going to be getting to sleep tonight!

Excellent lighting and very well shot. '' as usual ''

AH look (#2) Its smiling for the camera :D
Great set as always Alby (y)

These are amazing shots.
Where can these spiders be found? as i'd love to have a go at them.

stunning fantastic detail (y)

Amazing, #3 for me is great. If you could get some "little people" around the spider it could be mistaken for Liverpool recently

Really great shots though - well done (y)

Great detail! Wow.

We had a black widow in the house the other week. I am not a fan of spiders so it soon met the rubber sole of my flight boots. Perhaps if I had a macro lens it would of been introduced to that first.
