wonky lens hood

Just picked up an old screw on lens hood for my Fuji x100t but I can't seem to get it straight.

Basically when I tighten it, it's about 45 degrees off.

Any ideas on how I can get it on straight? It was an impulse eBay buy that I assumed would just work...

And it looks absolutely mint... Apart from the fact it's not straight!

sounds like it has been cross threaded, maybe in manufacture? I would send it back and ask for a replacement. Could be that is why it was on ebay in the first place
