Do I need to upgrade to a pro user in order to be able to edit a theme?

I would like to add my blog to my google webmaster account, which required me to add some code to the header.

The guid on howe to do this on the wordpress site says this.

Access the Theme Editor from the Administration > Appearance > Editor menu.

But I do not have the 'Editor menu' on mine. Is this something available to pro useres only, or is it dependent on the theme you use?

This is my blog, and I like the the way it looks, so I would like to avoide changing to a new theme if at all possible.

Can I use Google Analytics?

No, Google Analytics cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs at this time.

One of the problems using something you don't control 100% unfortunately.

Thanks, But I am not trying to add analytics to my blog. The wordpress own ststs does good enough a job.
This is to try and help make the blog more searchable.

However, seems I am tit and did not read to the end. Wordpress have kindly supplied an easy input method. :bonk:
