Wonder of any of you Wordpress or PC Gurus can help me overcome a problem? I have installed Wordpress on one of my sites, intending to host me pics there, it uses a 'Theme Forest' paid Wordpress theme which has installed fine.

Everything works as expected, except for the part where is uploads and inserts the photo into the post, (can do it from PC via browser etc or can be inserted from the Media Library), at the point of clicking on 'Insert in Post' up comes an error saying:-

Internet Explorer 9

"INTERNET EXPLORER CANNOT READ THIS WEBPAGE FORMAT."

Firefox

"An appropriate representation of the requested resource /wp-admin/media-upload.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request."

Anyone any idea what's going on and how to overcome this?

TIA

it sounds like you have one or more files missing from your wordpress install, not your theme. Try reinstalling WP. If you just copy the PHP files you should be able to do this without losing any work done

WP has been reinstalled a few times and this is an issue that has been present through WP 2 to WP 3.3 - all files are present and this is the only issue with the installation.
I suspect an issue with the server software, possibly mod_security, but even with a .htaccess file in place in wp-admin to bypass mod_security I still have the problem. :(

It's a "stab in the dark", but I've had problems in the past when WP does an update and my hosting company hasn't caught up yet. I recall having to install a newer version of PHP or something like that

You're not with 1 and 1 are you?

But I could be talking rubbish (no change there) :)

Thanks, no not with 1&1, know too much about them!
A final attempt to discover the problem has just shown it to be a permissions issue on a different file - it now works thankfully.
