Wordpress Photos and Paypal

I'm wanting to use Wordpress, and Gallery2 or Coppermine to design a showcase for my pictures, with the option for those who wish to purchase them to checkout via paypal.

Anyone done similar? A quick google and search on the forum came up with nothing.

have a look for badgerbaiter's site, I think he did that. I'm still hoping to.

The paypal plug in works really well. ALso gives you an order summary in the admin sections of the gallery which is great for tracking where you are with orders.

Just to second that, I use the checkout with paypal and email plugins for Gallery2 and the latest revision by Alec is excellent and he is continually developing it:clap:

Yep, I'm using Gallery2 with PayPal Checkout. Great bit of software.

badgeraiter uses Joomla, with Gallery2. He managed to embed Gallery2 within Joomla, although going by some of his posts at the time, it was a tough job, but his site looks excellent for it.

If I was starting fresh, I would go this route. :thumbs:

I tried embedding Gallery2 within my current site, and it wouldn't function properly when folk tried to buy my pics.

Gawd, I've been messing about with that tonight and the number of options are mindboggling. Even just changing the menu options is like programming the space shuttle :bonk:

Are you talking just Gallery2, or are you going for a Joomla/Gallery2 combo? :D

Update- I've gone the Wordpress Coppermine route, and have managed to get Paypal working. Still looking a bit raggy and content to add but I'll post the URL soon for your crit.
 
zenphoto - its pretty lightweight and much easier to manage than gallery2 but database run and can have paypal and google checkout.
