Hey all, please could you tell me if there is a theme where my posted pictures will display at 800px long edge, instead of the thumbnails or if there is something in the dashboard settings I need to change ?

I am a dunce with this type of thing, so please speak English.
 
Depends what theme you are currently using. Some will have 'featured image' which might be what is doing the thumbnails, sometimes its how you have added them. I just resize mine to 800 and post at full size. Can you explain whether you mean in each individual post, or when you are a viewing the blog page with several recent posts showing?
 
Thanks Yv, I have resized my images to 800px already and uploaded them but they are showing as thumbnails at 150px rather than as a 800px images in a column.

I have just started it today so I am a WP virgin and it is not live yet so I am not even sure you can view it.
 
ok, click on the image in the new post box within your dashboard - it will show two icons actually on the image - one is a 'no entry' sign, basically to delete it, the other is a little picture frame - click on that and an image edit box appears. Scroll down the box, about 2/3rds of the way down iirc, will be a list of image sizes - it sounds like you have 150x150 selected, instead, choose the little radio button next to 'original' then scroll to bottom and click 'save' or 'update', whatever the option is, can't remember now. :lol:
 
Thanks Yv, sorted it, would like to know if there is an auto to this method as I have to do each one manually, I will keep trying. Thanks for your help, you were correct.
 
Let me go have a look at one of mine, see which setting in the dashboard might be causing it. I dont need to do it, they auto post at the 800 so something is stopping it, are you on the default theme? No frameworks or anything else added?


edit: oh, one other question, are you uploading straight to your wordpress library, or using a url from another hosting site/elsewhere on your server?
 
Sorry Yv, something is wrong, it only shows one image, I knew I would be pants at this.

I uploaded 6 images and all have 800px checked but only 1 image is showing, tried to add the 'more' tag but this brought an error too.

I think I have cracked it, you need to add them as a gallery, just add [gallery] to the post and this will add them all, I think....lol
