Work expierience

[jpay]

I am really interested in gaining direct hands on expierience from professionals to compliment my BTEC diploma in photography at college.

Can anyone offer advice on the best and most professional way to gain relevant work expierience?
How do i ensure that by offering my services i don't become a receptionist?
Has anyone been on work expierience? How useful did you find it?

I am situated in south east england and really want to gain an insight into all fields of photography before i commit to any specific subject.

Thanks in advance
