Work flow

Hi guys just wanted a bit of advice on "stream lining" my post processing.
I have just got back from a very busy shoot and i have well over 1000 images.

I would like to know how you go about sorting which images you are going to use and what programs you use when.
I have photoshop Cs4 and light room 2.

the client had a quick look through and narrowed it down slightly but there are still loads.

Any advice would be great

Thanks for the link, it's a big file (236mb) but am downloading it now, will let you know what I think. I'm also new to Lightroom so looking forward to more input on this.
