Any feedback would be great. It's a work in progress so there will be some things that stick out more than others. It's using Wordpress (no plugins, default install), Blueprint CSS, jQuery, Scriptaculous and my own custom theme.

There is a problem with image caching which I'm working on at the moment and that seems to be slowing the site down a little bit. But 2 days work, you can't really complain :P

Front page looks too thin in the middle of my modest 19" screen, must look like a postage stamp on a 24" :S

It looks not too bad on my 30 inch Dell, it was designed on a macbook pr0. It's meant to be thin. 470px. Half the industry standard :)

I agree with the comments on the size. I'm viewing on a 13" widescreen and the text can be annoyingly small to read.

I'd also add that the overall impression was a bit drab. I wasn't motivated to explore or comment to be honest. Just didn't get the "wow" factor... Don't take this comment too personally as it's just my opinion and i'm sure there'll be others for whom the site has a draw.

Either way, hope the feedback is helpful and good luck with it! :)

I like it a lot. Nice typography also, but the spacing needs to be consistent for the header-links. The border/padding/margin on the links from the right side of the container and the left side of the container are not the same (on FF2). Could give 2-3px extra width for each menu item to push 'photography' and 'contact' a little further apart.

Plenty of portfolio preview to show them 2 wide, but that would ruin the look tbh.

Gets my vote.

(why does 'contact' take you to a new page instead of just dropping to the bottom where those details are duplicated anyway?)

Thanks for the feedback. A few things for me to consider.

About the contact page, you're totally correct. I'm going to remove that page actually because it serves no purpose.

The site is pretty basic, but it's meant to be. I'm not trying to dazzle people with irrelevant background images or flash animation, it's no nonsense. Basically my work aught to speak for itself. I'm hoping that if people want to be dazzled they'll see my work. I'm also aiming to ensure my photography becomes more consistent so that it begins to speak for itself.

Thanks for the feedback so far, its fantastic and really appreciated. :)

I like it a lot - definitely emphasizes the photos. Great shots/compositions, by the way.

The size is fine on my screen (19") - did you change this following other comments?
