Worth it just to try??

Am wanting a play with a ND filter. Seen this & thought it may be worth a try. If I like then would move up to a good quality one. Needs to be 77mm to fit my intended lenses. 10-22 Canon & 24-105 Canon. Maybe even my 100-400 if I'm feeling brave.

Depends on what quality you expect. I tried LCW Fader ND MKII and did not like it. Back to fixed ND filters.

The Haida Pro II MC is a nice ND filter for what is basically sweety money in comparison to LEE and B+W.
I have one and its one of my best purchases with minimal colour cast.

chunk of welding glass and some blutack is another cheap way of trying the long exposure thing - you can get welding glass from machine mart or from ebay for peanuts
