Reckon you need Cobra for those beauties...
The last one is a Harris Hawk though...
Spot on with the last one Ven
1)Gyr / gyr hybrid ( possibly gyr x saker)
2) Goldie
3) Harris Hawk

Cheers... ... and you responded rather smartly m8...
I thought you might have a bit of trouble with the first though...
Wasn't totally convinced about the Goldie either as it just did not look big enough there, or in the flight shot, or around the head/beak area... ... that's the trouble with these shows even the obvious can look odd...
He suggested that it was a black kite
again its not "quite right"
After a bit of research from the web site we now know that its a Yellow-billed Kite
Excellent stuff Cobra... ... when I saw the flight shot my first thought was Black Kite but, as you say, that didn't quite fit... ... not being familiar with the birds of Gambia I wouldn't have placed the Yellow Billed Kite tag on it but it certainly fits the bill...
Thanks for checking it out though...
OK, my guess was tawny eagle.
Chris - to gyr's normally have a blue "eye ring"? Is that why you think it is a cross? (trying to learn)
