Yes
Was taking some pics earlier with the Canon 55-250mm IS and i noticed that the lens coating seems to be degrading a little.
Theres 2 pit marks on the front element and one of them seems to be expanding.
Cant post pics as im am working away.
Would this be a warranty issue?

Might be but have you tried cleanig it off? some marks can look like damage to the coating (had that exact thing yesterday myself)

Another agreed :). Thought I had damage on one lens that had been there for months.... cleaned it with a 'glasses cleaning wipe' and it removed what must have been an oily mark. lens is perfect.

Will try giving it a good clean first, i use Lens Pens and they havent been able to remove it.

If not, and if it's under warranty as you seem to imply, send it to Canon at Elstree.
Not only will they clean it, but if you ask them they'll calibrate and set it up as well.

Lens pen didn't touch mine either. Use an alcohol based wipe.
