Would using modern eye magnifiers work on older cameras?

I was looking for an eyepiece magnifier for a Praktica and saw one on Amazon but for different cameras. I'm wondering if anyone has used one as it looks like it might just screw on.

They were available for most cameras in times past, however it is unlikely that they have the same thread.
If you can find an old one you could have a prescription lens made to fit it. But you do not want it made for correcting astigmatism or it will only work landscape or portrait.
 
My mistake, it's not a screw in fit, it's a square piece of plastic with a track either side.

I'd still use my glasses, I really wanted just to help with focus a little more.
 
Given Amazon's returns policy, I'd probably risk it. One of the 6 adaptors provided will probably fit.
