Yeah its a good deal, its a better build camera and has more features as well as 5fps. But 30D go for around £300 now, you may as well save another £100 and buy a 40D, worth the extra IMHO. Bigger lcd screen, live view, 10mp, 6.5fps etc.
I would say that as far a choosing between the **D and the ***D, there are probably only 2 things to consider, which fits your hand better and do you think you will need the metal body over the plastic one
The reason I am thinking about it is due to the high number of shots I take, In average I will shoot around 500 shots per week. Also all the photography I do is outside and this time of year in seems to be in the rain. Is the 30D more suited for these conditions and the amount of shots I am taking??
Touch wood to date my 400D has been faultless, as far as grip goes I had to add the battery grip to it to feel more stable with the 75-300 lens fitted.
Emm now you got me thinking, perhaps I should just wait and save enough money to buy a 40D and keep the 400D as back up. I don't know what I would do without a camera if it failed , lol
