Just sharing! Single image tonemapped in Photomatix.

I think you need to tone down on the tonemapping - you've ended up with the odd halo effect around the edges of stuff. A little less extreme on that front and you have a very atmospheric image I think

I like the grunge look but the halo needs to tone down a little

i like it, as above maybe a tad too much but for me but on the whole i really like the hdr thing, creates some great looking artistic shots.

I don't so much mind the extream HDR effect my main reason for not being too keen on this image is that you've clipped the tyre it would have been improved to have the entire tyre in the photo :shrug:

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind an extreme HDR/tonemapped effect at all - it's just the glow around the edges. You can do the extreme without the funny glowing effect.

Thanks for all the comments. I'll re-insert a smaller image when I'm at my pc.

I'll have another play and try to avoid the halos.

In the original shot I have the whole tyre, but the horizon was wonky. I had to crop the tyre slightly to rotate the image.
