Wrist Strap for compact that "locks" so I can't drop my camera!

I just use the supplied wrist strap and tie a knot at the end to "shorten" it. Slip it carefully on the wrist and off you go......
 
I just use the strap off a wii remote. because it's light, thin and has a built in sliding clip that locks it in place.

I put these on my wife's and daughter's compacts, cheap and work very well
 
ANY old wrist strap (strong enough) and a toggle off an old waterproof/fleece jacket. That's what I use.
 
Cordweaver. Doesn't lock as such but the cord runs through a metal ring like a slip knot.

You slide the little silver toggle on this up and it can't fall off your wrist......
 
I've never liked or trusted sling straps..... camera swings around way too much for my liking..... :)
 
Not a fan of wrist straps in general but do use one on my Nikon 1AW since I'm even less of a fan of having things round my neck underwater! I use an OpTech one since it's neoprene (waterproof and comfortable) and has a sliding bit to stop it slipping off my wrist. http://www.amazon.co.uk/OP-TECH-SLR-Wrist-Strap/dp/B00137NMMW (other suppliers may be cheaper but that's the link I'm giving since it has some reviews as well!)
 
I use the fat, spongy, slightly elasticated and easily detachable type as seen above in posts by @dizidav and @Nod Supports a dslr with 1/2 + kilo of lens and I find it's the perfect length for me. The only time I unclip it is if it gets in the way when doing tripod work.
 
I use an Optech Cam Strap QD on my Nex6, it's small than the other Optech strap that's been pointed out already.

Can't beat a simple DIY option though Jeff!
