trying to build my studio and i need to buy a flash unit but i have no idea what its called

its like a wireless external flash and when you press the shutter it flashes but it is not sitting on top of your camera but say like in an umbrella

any ideas

what the hell is this kk thing that keeps burning my eyes...

its a remote flash, it doesn't have to be wireless, it can be sync corded, it doesn't have to be a brolly it could be a softbox...etc..
