i have a lynksys router running a server direct after this

my issue is i can connect to xbox live and to the internet

but the xbox live is limited apparantly due to the NAT settings i have never had this issue

where do i access the settings for the NAT so i can re configure them :thinking:

its def not the server we have done a direct input test and its still the same so it must be the router not sure how this has changed but i need help
 
Power cycle the router. and if that does not work look up port forwarding on the xbox website.
 
a friend helped me out last night im sure he did the power cycle on the router and im sure the port for the xbox was open as stated but what im not sure about is how to access the NAT side and the correct settings

the xbox live website only says make sure the nate settings are correct not which one's

and make ure port 80 i belive is open for the port forwarding as suggested

not that good at this technical stuff lol
 
http://192.168.2.1/ place this in your browser window that should get you to setup of your router(this is for my Belkin but it should be quite similar to your linksy access)

if this gets you into your router settings you need to enable a DMZ for the ip of your Xbox. this has worked for me on two routers.
if the http i gave you is wrong you need to search and find the one to access your linksy router!

nope nothing opend the dmz enabled it

my xbox has its own ip adress of 192.168.0.20
 
ok have read that baring the comments i have done all this my concern is that this is a older version due to the purple screen

any way dmz has been done all the umd 3037 etc are open on my router basically what is in that link i have done plus more with still no luck

im off to get a used netgear router tonight as i know they work fine without having to mess with the settings

im also having or hard other issue's so my belife is the router is about to say bye bye to me

it says there is a issue with the nat settings when i go into my router it is enabled and no other settings are near it that can be helpful for the nat side of things

basically i am restricted to what i can do ie play with friends but only some of them i can play with same as party chat some i can some i cant

something is restricting this i have had no software updates thats one of the 1st things i checked there is no firmware updates either all upto date

so somethign is a miss router going faulty is the only other answer i can see

no code but says the fault and the web adress and it is basically what i have done already plus i have done other stuff that is not said that i have doen

on the dmz if i enable that it basically opens the port fully avoiding the nat etc but it is not

also i have done a power cycle after every setting upgrade
 
Hmm I know I have had problems in the past with not being able to play against certain people In certain games, do you let the xbox automatically assign settings or have you tried manually inputting the settings also have you always had problems or only recently and if so has anything else changed
 
nothing has changed it has its own ip adress we also tried it on auto ip and also changed the ip adress again

i have not been able to join my brother for ages but now over the last 2 weeks it is people i have played with and never had a issue at all and nothing has changed settign wise and no updates from what i can see
