X-E1 / CSC filters

Hi all,

I have a set of Hitech and Lee 100mm grads, ND's etc and planned on buying a lee adapter ring for my smaller Fuji lenses on my X-E1. However, I had two concerns.

1) They feel too big compared to on the 50D.
2) with the smaller lenses, will the grads work okay or will I only get to use a smaller section?

I've noticed Lee have a seven5 series for CSC cameras and I wondered if apart from size they offered any benefits on a CSC camera?

I don't really want to have to buy everything again in a smaller size, so would be interested to here what others have done regarding filters when they acquire a CSC.

Thanks.
Steve

1. The adapter ring will work fine, meaning the filters can also be used on other lenses, eg your Canon lenses.

2. The grads will still work fine but you would need to be more careful in placement.

3. Patience is a virtue - you have bumped this question just over an hour after your opening post, but you asked another question about lunchtime, and have not bothered to respond to two replies that were left over 8 hours ago!

Just saying......

Thanks David, will get an adapter.

Not sure about your grumpy point three? How do you get one hour? It was four days ago that I asked and it seemed to have vanished from view due to post volume. I thought four days was long enough as it may have been missed. I appreciate your reply but don't understand why you need to be unpleasant?

I hadn't replied to the other thread as its only a few hours old, as you noted! I have pm'd one respondent as he kindly asked to check and I've also thanked you???

Perhaps it's not me that needs the patience?

I humbly apologise, Steve, I saw the time and not the date, as I thought it was a new post. My comment was never intended to be unpleasant though, but there have been a lot of questions asked lately that are replied to without ever receiving responses from the op's.

My apologies again.

No problem! I probably overreacted too ;-)

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the help on both.

Regards
Steve

I too had a set of hitech 100mm filters and felt they were too big for my fuji setup. So I bought some 85mm filters to try. The smaller ones seem fine to me but I'm not an active filter user so haven't given them a good try out. If I was buying from scratch I would choose 85mm ones. But if I had a 100mm set I would stick to that as it works fine with the right adapter.
