X Pro 1 Card Read Error?

My x pro 1 just hit a card read error after running out of power while writing to the card. I was just using it in my living room, nothing important. But if it had been??? Is this normal?
 
worked it out its the apple mac incompatibility thing, forgot id put the card in yesterday and not formatted.
