X-Rite Colorchecker - deleting profiles

Possibly a daft question but here goes ...

If I create a profile and apply it on import to photos (in Lightroom) and then later delete that profile, is its effect removed from the processed images?

The X-Rite colour checker is used to produce rendering profiles for Raw Files. These are not applied until you actually render the image. If the Raw file has a profile associated with it which no longer exists, I assume that LR would use a default profile. It is an interesting point and probably Adobe or X-Rite will know the answer. I have a number of profiles for each of my cameras. The profile is automatically identified against the camera serial number during import. I have certainly not deleted any myself as there are a relatively small number and they consume almost no disk space.
