Out doors in the dark with fairy lites on it....settings for a 500d?

Some settings..
1) Tripod
2) Shoot when it's not yet completely dark, ie at dusk
3) Shoot low ISO, small aperture and long exposure for a bit of star effect on the lights

Go wide open as bokeh is the way to go with lit trees ;-)
