Having just moved to mac and still getting used to it can anyone tell me how to make my xmp files visible? I can see the nef thumbnails but not the xmp that i want to accompany it. Strangely enough the files that I've processed previously on pc i am able to see them.

Silly question but did you copy them over?

I haven't done anything special on my mac and can see them if they actually exist (which they don't unless I ask for them as I use Lightroom)
 
Also using Lightroom. Yes i mirrored the drives. I can see them from the files that I've processed previously on pc. However anything subsequently that I've worked on on the mac all i can see are the thumbnails and no sign of the xmp's.
