Xperia X10

I have had a *few* problems with Xperia X10. The frequent one (on 5 handsets) is the sound randomly dropping, in that you go into media scape, or online videos/music and there is no sound, even though it is turned right up. Note that the ring/message/email tones still work fine. Now, its been very frequent, with my having to turn the X10 off, and back on to get the sound back.I recently found out that it is not random, as I thought, but some incompatibility with calling. The sound is fine, and then if I receive a call, it will then mute. It sometimes happens with out going calls. Again, sometimes, it won't mute after the first incoming call, but with the 2nd. I'm going to just have to wait til 2.1 comes out in a few months:shake:.Whatever it is, its freaking annoying! wondered if anyone has any views on this? I have done all the usual - restart, battery out, sim out, memory card out etc.

Have you updated it to the latest software (not sure if Sony release small fixes between big releases).

Unfortunately it hasn't been rooted yet, if it had this would have probably been fixed if it was happening to others.

Yes, its on the latest, just checked. Is rooted the equivalent of iPhone jailbroken?

Ish, normally rooted means you can completely change the whole style of the phone (say install modified OS's etc. as well as install other software.
