Looking at upgrading my battered X100 to the Fuji XT1 for personal work but want to keep the size as small as poss, as my aim it to be able to pop it into a small bag for trips out with the family etc.

I'd want a wide prime to go on it and as much as the Fuji 23mm 1.4 looks great I have concerns it will be too big and therefore defeats the object of keeping things compact as possible.

Has anyone tried the 18mm f2 pancake with the XT1? Just wondered how it fares with AF speed and image quality as have read mixed reviews?

Cheers!

I have recently acquired the 18mm for my X-T1 and find it performs admirably well, focusing quickly, very sharp and gives me no reason to complain at all especially as they can be picked up used very reasonably.

I also have the 27 mm which is more of a 'pancake' lens than the 18mm and is also a stellar performer. Both lenses would enable the camera to go into a decent sized coat pocket I would say.

Although the 18 & 27mm are smaller don't rule out the 35mm, it will go in a small bag I would have thought. I find it jacket pocketable and I take to the Footbal most home games. I even used to with the Xpro when I had that! Other times it goes in the wife's handbag.
