I currently own a Canon 500D with the 18-55mm kit lens and the 55-250mm lens. I was browsing Martkplaats, which is essentially a Dutch Craig's List, and came across this post:

Yashica ml 50mm 1.9 lens + yashica 135mm 2.8 + adapter Canon

I was wondering if it would be a useful additional to my current kit. I know that there will be no auto focus, however the list price is around £90 for two primes.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Natalie
Check out http://forum.mflenses.com/ quite a few of your countrymen on there, I'm not a canon user myself so can't offer much advice but they seem a tad expensive to me, Check out the market place on the above forum, just a little warning once you start on a couple of manual lenses it becomes a very slippery slope to being broke lol

The ML 50mm f1.9 is an exceptionally good lens comparable to its Zeiss counterpart, the 135mm is also considered a good lens. I think that with the adaptor the price is ok but if you could negotiate it down a bit (maybe to £80ish) it would be a bargain.
All the Yashica ML lenses are excellent I own quite a few and also have a Nikon adaptor. All you need now is a nice Yashica FR and a couple of rolls of film.....

Thanks guys :) I did look on eBay, but would rather get all the things I need from one person at the same time, especially as I have never used a purely manual focussing lens before. I sent an email asking if the seller on Marktplaats would sell for a lower price.
