Yellow colour cast on JPEGS, help please!

Hello,

This is something that's been bugging me for a while but chose to ignore it - I shoot in RAW + JPEG and when I view the JPEG against the RAW the JPEG has a slight yellow colour cast that looks unnatural - if you look at the JPEG alone you might not think it has a yellow cast but when viewing side by side you can.

This is extremely frustrating when I want to keep the JPEG and get rid of the RAW. I've tried adjusting the white balance on the JPEG slightly but it still has a cast. I'm not sure what is causing it and was wondering if there's any way I can correct it in-camera? I'm assuming it's related to the in-camera processing like auto lighting optimiser or something? All of my custom functions are on default setting.

I've put two photos below so you can see for yourself - the top one is the image taken in RAW and the bottom is the image taken in JPEG, all I've done is imported to LR3 and exported as JPEGS. As you can see, in the bottom image my cat has a yellow cast (especially around his belly) and so does the light behind him. If you can't see what I mean then save the images and flick between them on your computer in full-screen with the arrows, you'll then see what I mean.

Can't see any cast but the JPG is brighter in shadows.
 
Your in camera picture style settings will be applied to the jpg but not the RAW, unless you process the RAW with DPP which will use the picture style as a starting point for your editing.

Thanks for the tip, I use 'standard' as the picture style at the moment but I'll try neutral, thanks :)

You might think you're comparing the JPEG against the RAW, but you aren't. You can't see a RAW file because it's just a dump of sensor data. A RAW file needs to be converted into an image before you can see it.

So what you're actually comparing is the RAW converted into an image by your camera against the RAW converted into an image by your PC.

If you're still with us, then the diagnosis of your problem is obvious. The two RAW converters aren't set up the same way, and (as others have said) the likely culprit is the in-camera 'picture style' settings.
