That is certainly unique. Not seen one of those before. Combined with your fungi pics, I would have guessed you didn't live in the UK!

Nice shot, good detail, colour and DOF. I got a shot of a similar coloured ladybird earlier this year and found a website that lists all the different species to identify it. I didn't know there was anything other than the normal red ones till then.

I got his little guy earlier in the year - looks like the same species (ie Halyzia sedecimguttata)

Cheers will keep an eye out. Re Photos no problems at all if I get a minute and some reasonable weather over weekend might do some test shots. Might work out the problem that way.

Here's another that I found recently that helped me out with an ident for a shield bug larvae http://www.britishbugs.org.uk/index.html Very helpful for those little critters.
