Yet another filter question

Basically I want to go out and use my new ND110, however I'm gong to be using film, black and white for that matter. So I also want to use my Hoya red filter to add back some contrast.

How many stops do I need to change?

Is it 13? 10 for the ND filter and then 3 for the red filter? Or do I even need to change the other 3?!

Help please :)

I'll be watching this with interest, as i'm investing in some filters for the first time, and although I'm not shooting film, am a bit confused about 'stops' etc

p.s. sorry I was of no help!

Another thing you may have to consider is the reciprocity failure of film, esp on exposures 1sec or longer. The film is effectively becoming less sensitive as the exposure continues. Things get a bit more complicated when calculating very long exposures if you need to take this into account.

I know this went for colour neg and slide film, but also black and white suffers from the reciprocity failure? :(
