I've been on the look out for an 80-200mm for some time now, thinking AF-D but an AF-S would be nice for the improved focus speed and silent operation. Following all the s/h shops (well maybe not quite all) for changing stock and Ebay for possibles.... then 'Hey I found just the one for me' on the Bay. With box, case and hood all almost as new, and took the plunge! At the price of the AF-D new from Camerabox +£20

This thing is in perfect condition with the smallest of marks on the tripod collar that have now been removed so it's spotless :).

I've had a very quick play in the back garden in the rain :( and I'm EXTREMELY happy with the instant focus lock and sharpness wide open

Even down at 1/80" @ 135mm handheld on the shot, the result is good (I think the weight of this thing helps with shake too LOL)

So, my first shot!

I can't wait for the rain to stop and get out there for some real fun with this. I'm over the moon, like a dog with two..... tails

Nice bit of kit,enjoy..............

That is a great lens!! Would love to add to my kit someday.
Nice first pics.

Congratulations, that is a superb lens and I'm not jealous at all..:naughty:

I think it a very well balanced lens, you wont miss not having VR, now, go and get it dirty....

Allan

Thank you :)
Just hope the weather plays ball tomorrow

I don`t know where you live mate, but it is slashing down up here.

Good luck and enjoy.......:D

Thanks Allan and Bambam
Yes the weather could just be on my side today

It's all Stewart's fault, I hired a 70-200 from him the other week and then NEEDED a lens in that range (but my pockets are no deep enough for that one).

I'll be using it mostly for more candid relaxed toddler and children outside portraits so I'm not in their faces so much and can make the most of the DoF at larger apertures

In Bucks, it's nice here at the moment (sunny and showers the nice lady says on the tele)

Better get out there quick, before the heavens open.........

Why don't you pay me a visit (Algeciras, Spain) - it's brilliant sunshine and 43 degrees in the shade :D

(you're lens hood WOULD be effective here )
