YongNuo 460 problem

I'm using 2 of these flashes wirelessly with my 7d. Indoors they work perfectly on all combinations, but the second I'm stood in the doorway or go outside they don't fire.

Pardon the pun, but can anyone shed any light on what the problem may be or how to fix it?

are you using infra red or optical triggering by any chance?

if so you need a direct line of sight between the flash and camera, to fire through walls would require radio triggering.

Not firing through walls. They're in the same position as they are inside, only outside. Same line of sight. They just won't fire outside.

From what I've heard, the only properly reliable way of triggering in sunlight is via cable or radio triggers. Infra red is a bit hit and miss in direct light.
